I used to live in Baltimore City and am moving back to the area for a while. Can somebody tell me what's up as far as high speed Internet (cable modem) access is concerned for the city/county? Thanks, Bill Bogstad bogstad@pobox.com P.S. At least temporarily, I'm looking for a furnished apartment. Any comments/ideas on that would be great as well...

As of now, Baltimore City doesn't have cable internet, though DSL is probably available in most of it. It is available from Comcast in Baltimore County. You can always check www.comcastonline.com for more specifics. Here in Baltimore County, the connection is ok, though slow during primetime. However, don't depend on them for email. Email gets lost (though they say "only delayed") or delayed (a few hours to months) on a regular basis. An alternative news server is also not a bad idea. Oh yea, pray you never have to call customer service. There are some good and knowledgable techs there, but it's hit or miss that you connect with one. mady -- madylarian OCL(OCF) *take hobinrood out of email address to reply* #Neuter/spay all spammers so they can't breed!# Honi soit qui mal y pense

Bill,
I live in Catonsville, near the CC and UMBC, and have had Comcast @Home for
three (3) years now. I could not be happier. I yanked my dial modem out a
week after the installation and have never looked back. Very reliable
service, fast, etc. I highly recommend it.
