The console and the aux cable is the same, and comes in the zip-lock bag with DCE and DTE flavor modular to DB25 and just now also a modular to DB9 in DCE mode to connect to DTE/Terminal. Beware of random wiring diagrams you may see. cisco switch from a staright through cable to a flipped modular cord and 'flipped' the adapters suitably at that time. I.E. there are 2 rather different cisco cons/aux cord kit styles floating around. There is detailed info on the philosophy of what was done as well as wiring diagrams and the recomended mods to an older adapter to make it behave like the newer ones (other that the cable flip issues) all on CIO.
