Good/Bad Terminal Server / Router Experiences?

Does anyone out there want to share any good or bad experinces they have
had with terminal servers, routers and DSU/CSU's. We want to set up
a terminal pool to access our network. I would like to use seperate
terminal servers and routers instead of combined models so the size of
the modem pools can increase and not effect the T1 connection. Is this
wise? Any good recomendations for terminal servers with advanced
options such as automatic routing to a particular host after initial
login etc...

Thanks for any info...
