I have been looking at the relative merits of the complete IP to the host approach. TCP/IP on MVS has an large overhead compared to SNA. I would recommend the use of SNA gateways that can send TCP/IP to the data center and then convert to SNA for access
to the host.

There are many products that do this from vendors such as IBM, Microsoft, Attachmate, CNT etc. that can do this.

Emulations that are propietry are functionally better than TN3270/E and I would recommend them also.
