You may be interested to know that there is currently a vote in 
news.announce.newgroups on whether to establish a newsgroup for the 
discussion of the laws, regulations, and safety approval procedures 
governing the production, design and marketing of electronic and electrical 
equipment, and the engineering techniques used to comply with them.  

For more information about this vote, read the message 
"CFV: sci.engr.electrical.compliance" with message-id 
<827280430.15076@uunet.uu.net> or contact the votetaker at warren@syra.net 

The CFV was also posted to news.groups, sci.electronics.design, 
sci.electronics.misc, sci.physics.electromag and alt.engineering.electrical
