Hi - I just sent a post off to comp.os.ms-windows.announce announcing my CID program which does handle the Rochelle devices (both their two-line model that you mention and a single-line model which is about half the price). Here is the text of that post: -- cut here -- CIDMan - a program which manages Caller ID information sent by the phone company has completed its Beta Test phase and is now ready for release. CIDMan has been tested on all Windows platforms. The executable is available from the following URL: http://www.airmail.net/~kautrey Features of the program are as follows: - Non-modem CID devices from Rochelle Communications are supported. The Non-modem CID devices just sit on the phone line listening for CallerID data and when received, pass it in to CIDMan. These devices are significantly cheaper than buying a CallerID-compatible modem. See the CIDMan documentation for details about how to order these non-modem CID devices. - Most (All?) CallerID modems are supported - Dialing Directory (with number lookup) - Callbacks from the Caller List - Calls placed from within the program can be made using one of four "Dialing Methods": - Local 7 (xxx-xxxx) - Local 10 (xxx-xxx-xxxx) - 1+Long Distance (1-xxx-xxx-xxxx) - Prefixed Long Distance (10xxx-xxx-xxx-xxxx) (user-defined prefix) - Automatic blocking of "Private" calls - "Call log" logs all calls received - Database-selectable blocking of individual callers - Pager interface such that when any (or only selected, as defined by the user) callers call, you are paged automatically. (Alpha-pager support is currently in the works - when the functionality is present, it will be released as a FREE "upgrade") - General Announcements for certain types of calls: - Incoming Out-of-area call - Incoming Private Call - Database-Blocked Calls - Announcements can also be specified on a per-caller basis. - Notebook feature - such that you can bring up a caller-unique notebook file with the press of a button when an individual calls - External Comm Program interface - so you don't have to exit CIDMan in order to use your modem for other comm programs. - Set system time from the timestamp on the CallerID data passed in from the phone company. CIDMan is a shareware program with a 30-day evaluation period. If you decide to register the program, the cost is only $25 ($30 if purchasing by credit card). __ \/ Kevin Autrey - kautrey@airmail.net CIDMan: http://www.airmail.net/~kautrey
