Recently I tried downloading some Postscript fonts to a hard drive attached to a LaserWriter IINTX from my Macintosh IIfx running System 7.1. I tried using the latest utility from Apple for the task (7.2) and discovered to my surprise that it reported every postscript font I owned was defective and it could not do the job as a result. This was even the case after reformatting the drive on the printer and restarting it. Fortunately when I tried the older software from Apple for the task (7.0), the problem went away. Has anyone else experienced this problem and know its cause? Where does Apple or Adobe document the postscript stuff about downloading fonts to drives attached to PostScript printers?
