Trying to start with Mesa2.5, Help.

Hi,

I recently got Mesa2.5 since 3Dfx is making a lot of fuss about it's
OGL Beta, SDK.
http://www-hmw.caribel.pisa.it/fxmesa/index.shtml

Once unzipped, I prepared the way to compile it for my voodoo rush board.
Using VC++5.0, I got the glide libs and headers in the defailt VC++ LIB
and HEADERS dir. Eventually ;)...I managed to get the "makefx" batchfile
to compile the mesa version:

OPENGL32 DLL       535,040  12-09-97  1:07a OpenGL32.DLL
OPENGL32 LIB       269,690  12-09-97  1:07a OpenGL32.lib
OPENGL32 EXP        47,383  12-09-97  1:07a OpenGL32.exp
GLU32    DLL        65,024  12-09-97  1:09a GLU32.dll
GLU32    LIB        30,300  12-09-97  1:09a GLU32.lib
GLU32    EXP         5,596  12-09-97  1:09a GLU32.exp
GLUT32   DLL       155,136  12-09-97  1:12a GLUT32.dll
GLUT32   LIB        69,580  12-09-97  1:12a GLUT32.lib
GLUT32   EXP        13,382  12-09-97  1:12a GLUT32.exp
FXTK     LIB       183,848  12-09-97  1:17a fxTK.lib

I found-out that I had to get the 3Dfx DEMOS from another ZIP file
So I unzipped "MesaDemos-2_4.zip" and transfered the "3Dfx" dir into
mesa-2.5 directory. I was now able to try to compile the demos.
But I soon noticed the makefile.fx was not using the correct libs.
Here is the linking statement of the demo makefile.fx

LINK=   /link $(MESALIB)\fxMesa.lib $(MESALIB)\fxGLU.lib \
        $(MESALIB)\fxGLUT.lib $(MESALIB)\fxTK.lib \
        glide2x.lib texus.lib kernel32.lib user32.lib gdi32.lib winmm.lib

So, I changed the name to what the Mesa had just compiled:

LINK=   /link $(MESALIB)\OpenGL32.lib $(MESALIB)\GLU32.lib \
        $(MESALIB)\GLUT32.lib $(MESALIB)\fxTK.lib \
        glide2x.lib texus.lib kernel32.lib user32.lib gdi32.lib winmm.lib

Now it should use the proper MESA version, I thought !

But, unfortunately I have LINK errors. Can you please help me Starting
with this superb perspective of having accelerated 3Dfx GL.
That's all I need to start writing cool 3D Freeware and Sharewares. :)
I must admit, I'v been out of the programming league for a while so,
so this one might seem obvious to you.

P.S. I know 3dfx.opengl group exists, but I have no easy access to
      this newsgroup, Please respond in all, or by mail.

O.K. Now,
There was not much feedback on my first post, I'm crossing my
fingers on this one.
Well, eventually I noticed mesademo 2.5, Which for some obscure reasons
I overlooked at first and got the version 2.4.

That was my main problem.

Now everything compiles perfectly, including the DEMOS.
But I get the "This program has performed an illegal operation,,,"
requester from running any of them.
Getting into DEBUG information, It all comes out to an
 "Unhandled exception trap" in glide2x.dll.

--->	004345FB   mov         ebx,dword ptr [eax]
	004345FD   call        dword ptr [ebx+60h]

I tried the already compiled versions, available on the WWW
I can say they work very well.

It must have to do with accessing the glide2x.dll
I would appreciate advice on what I could try next.

My first goal is to get a working MESA environment for voodoo rush.
Then I'll try to work on neat demos/freeware/shareware.
I am using VC++5.0, in Win95, latest GlideSDK (dlls,2.43)

Can somebody help me get a proper setup ?
