I am currently creating some geometry with the cxGeoTrisDefine routine. I have 4096 separate objects which are small "glyphs" approximately in the shape of cubes. They each consist of 8 points and require 9 indicies in the connectivity mesh to specify. I've noticed that Render takes about 5 minutes to draw this set of glyphs. Since I need to consecutively render many sets of these glyphs, and save the screen output of each rendering to make a movie, I am looking for ways to speed up the process. I've thought of using another call, such as cxGeoCylindersDefine, which lets me define only one object (i.e. a group of 4096 cylinders) - would this save time rendering ? Also, I have 2 processors on my machine, is there a way to speed things up with parallel programming ? Thanks for your help. Chris Ross ross@orion.nrl.navy.mil (202) 767-2739
