True for the external parallel port versions in the Zip family, but the internal Zips can scream. Not as fast as a modern hard drive, true, but easily fast enough for active use (working files) as well as a backup device. Zips are also handy moving large files between the office and home (or taking delivery of large multimedia files, etc.) where a removeable hard disk would be difficult to match between users (my company/your company). Never had a problem with corrupted Zip disks or files, either, even though, as a developer, I occasionally *cough, cough* manage to nuke the o/s. -- Rich Webb rawebb@erols.com Norfolk, VA
