You're both wrong. A virus is a program that infects other programs. It 
doesn't have to do anything else, but most do. Then there are programs 
that propagate themselves by other means, copying themselves from one 
machine to another. Those are worms. Then there is the kind that people 
propagate unintentionally because they think they are benign programs. 
Those are trojans. Then there is Outlook Express, but we're all familiar 
with that and don't accidentally use it anymore.
