The worst thing is, that first 'killer app' wasn't even theirs. It belonged to Digital Research and Microsoft bought it out just in time to license it to IBM. Good marketing strategy but then what did they do with it? From a technical standpoint, they held consumers hostage for years and years. We're only now getting to the point where the operating systems from Microsoft are nearly usable. Okay, my mind is getting sweaty too. Not to mention my hands.
