I have written a set of libraries for game use supporting:
256 colour fixed palette sprites 32 x32 dot
scrolling background layer much larger than screen
256 colour files run time dithered to:
     12 shades on Hercules
     60 shades on CGA
     254 shades on EGA

best mode is 320 x200 x256 colour.

4/5 sound channels at same time
Sound Blaster, parallel port, digital sound on Internal speaker
and Pianoman file format tunes. Also midi on SBPRO or SB16.

Each sprite can be in its own process thread, and has commands
like turtle graphics. one colour in a sprite is "transparent"

Any use? What kind of game are you writing?

Where can we get them, and is it with or without source?

This is a response both to the original question and to one
of the respondents.

I maintain a list of information/useful software for Modula-2,
with a bias towards PC implementations. The web reference is
http://www.eng.newcastle.edu.au/ee/Moylan/m2/Modula2.html.

Mike: your libraries sound like something that other people
could make use of. If you are willing to make them available,
then it's worth putting them on an ftp server somewhere.
If this is the case, could you mail me (or post here) a WWW
or ftp pointer that I can add to my list? If you don't have
access to an ftp server, I'm willing to put them on our
local server.

Another useful resource for this sort of thing is something
called the Game Programmers' Encyclopaedia. I've lost the
address for this, but I'll try to track it down.
