Hi Luke,

a DLL can be compared with a unit but with one huge difference. The DLL isn't
incorporated in the executable. This means the same code can be used by multiple
applications without requiring a lot of memory (the code is loaded into the
memory only once). You can write your own DLL's but you can also import
functions from existing ones (you have to know the exact declaration of the
function to do this). An example of imporing functions is the Windows unit. This
unit imports functions form the system DLL's. Some demos can be found at
