I am using a TTable to connect to a MSSQL-table. Sometimes Delphi generates SQL with quotes around fieldnames and sometimes not when openeing the table. E.g. select ID, NAME from TABLE1 select "ID", "NAME" from "TABLE1" I am using BDE, and as some of MSSQL-fieldnames are reserved words, and i therefor always needs to use quotes. The reason the reserved words are used, is that the applicaiton was ported from Sybase. /frank

Frank, Even i'm facing the similar kind of issue. The applicaiton could be from dbf files also. Where these reserved key words are allowed in field names. And since you are using SQL Server its better to use the ADO queries istead of direct table connections. Regards, Rams
