I need three things :
1. a SVGA unit for TP7/FPK that allows truecolor (16,24,32 bit) screens up
to say 1280x1024 or more.
2. a unit capable of handling loading/saving of JPEG's in truecolor
(16,24,32 bit) of up to 1280x1024.
3. a unit capable of playing a avi file with sound.

And, while your at it... I could really use some programming skills, too
<g>.
I know this is a lot to ask, but I've banged my head against this particular
wall for a long time. I can offer all sorts of inducements, just e-mail me.

bishopx@phreaker.net

Thanks.

Smack yourself. Hard. Repeatedly. While telling yourself over and over, "I
will not post or cross-post binaries to discussion groups!"

No they f***ing dont! Despite the fact that all you US people with
freebie local phone access can browse online... some of us download news
in batches (usually at 4am each day), in order to save on telephone
bills.... and it really f***s us off when we find that the download was
25 minutes longer than it should have been, because in amongst the 8000
other articles were 4 posts containing at total of 6 meg of bimaries.

It's particularly annoying because despite having set my news software
not to download articles larger than 50k... it still occasionally gets
it wrong!

You think so?
Of course, people have the choice not to download the newsgroup.
Some people have even the choice not to download your article.
However, you don't expect huge data in discussion groups;
therefore when noticing, it may be too late. Especially for
people who pay per volume.

But I didn't post any file attachments. It was just a simple question...

Not everyone reads news online one message at a time. I download all new
messages in this group (clpb) for offline reading each time I log on. Yes,
I could set up a filter to kill all messages over a certain size, but I
shouldn't have to. The policy of Usenet is to not post encoded binaries, or
even excessively long source code listings, to a discussion group such as
this one. For more information on this, please read the messages in
news.answers relevant to netiquette. You can also find info in the FAQs for
this group:

   Timo's TP FAQ: ftp://garbo.uwasa.fi/pc/link/tsfaqp.zip

   CLPB Mini-FAQ: http://www.pascal.force9.co.uk/faq/clpb-faq.txt
                  also available in this newsgroup

In the future, it would be better for you to post a pointer to a file on a
webpage or FTP site. This way you can still be helpful, and not clog up the
newsgroup or newsservers. When you send something to a newsgroup, you are
effectively copying it to thousands of hard drives all over the world. Just
think of how much space that 4992 line 369056 byte post is taking up on all
of those disks, and compare it to the relatively small number of people who
actually want it. I hope you'll consider this and not do it again.
