Hi Bjorn,

first of all, thanks for your answer. I hope you don't mind if I ask you
some more questions...

Unfortunately not, I'm working under plain DOS...

I'll try that. Is there anything special about the *.gsf format (as you
can see from my questions, I'm not *that* experienced yet with PostScript
fonts) or is any Type-1 font ready to go with GS? Anything special necessary
to register the fonts for GS? I guess you'd have to edit the fontmap file,
right?

Wow, does this survey exist as a file or is it part of a FAQ or something
like that? If so, I'd really like to get hold of it...

Thanks for your help,
Stephan

P.S.: Just to let you know what I need this for: I'm preparing graphs for my
Ph.D. thesis (with GLE, using LaTeX(emTeX)), and I'd like to have them in
EPS- as well as PCX-format. But unless I find some better PS-fonts to go with
GS (a good standard Times-Roman would already be enough), it's not that easy.
The "TeX" fonts that come with GLE (texcmr etc.) don't turn out very nicely
if you output from GLE to a bitmap directly.
