Generally, Adobe QA verifies PPD files, and releases them when the printer
ships. (This practice started with the shipment of PostScript Level 2
products, and we've held to it pretty well.) In the case of the Compaq
PAGEMARQ printers, the PPD files were delayed. A couple of new features of
the PAGEMARQ printers required us to make some minor interpretations of the
PPD spec, and we couldn't complete the PPD files until we made those
decisions.

I expect the PPD files to be completed soon. When completed, they will be
available via Adobe Developer Support's mail-response file server
(ps-file-server@adobe.com). I imagine Compaq will also make them available,
but I don't know how.

I don't recommend attempting to make a PPD file yourself. As a stopgap
until the real PPD is available, perhaps you could use the PPD for another
printer as a stand-in. Lie to Interleaf and tell it you are using some
other PostScript Level 2 printer, and I'll bet you'll be able to format
and print documents. Only the details of the built-in fonts and the
number of paper trays will be incorrect.

This is not a long-term solution, but perhaps it will serve as a temporary
work-around.
