hi,
i meant to post this in comp.lang.postscript:

i have postscript printers attached to a 4/490 running os 4.1.1 and a
large number of the users use "mp" to print ascii files and get postscript
 output. cool.

there are a few users who still use "lpr" and when they print their ascii
 files, the postscript printers ack!

i need to know if there is some filter program out there which
will filter the ascii from lpr and convert it to postscript. it'll be great
if this "filter" could be integrated in the /etc/printcap filters. also,
this filter needs to create a postscript banner page.

the end result is the "mp" users are happy and the "lpr" users get their
 printouts from the postscript printers.

thanks,
paul
