Do you mean to say that you think it's reasonable for someone in a computer
science program not to know the difference between the computer on which he's
generating the file, the machine that will be spooling the file, and the
machine that will actually be printing the file?  If so, then CS is in even
worse shape than I thought.

understanding of astronomy is purely at the amateur level (or below).  So
