Actually, there is a simple way of converting Adobe type I fonts on the Mac to something that a Unix box will like. Create a new document in your favorite word processor, and put a word or two in the font you want to convert, and nothing else. Then, print to disk (using that obscure key command I can never remember if you're still on System 6, or the radio button in System 7). This'll give you a straight ASCII file (7 bit, too, unless I'm mistaken) with, among other things, the font buried somewhere in it (most likely near the bottom). You can then cut an paste to get rid of the extra stuff, and do a simple file transfer from Mac to Unix. I used this method to get the standard 35 fonts in my copy of ATM in a format that Ghostscript would like (on A/UX). It was somewhat tedious, but it worked. b&
