How can one print specific pages of a postscript file under Ghostscript? I have a 400 page postscript file that i cant print out all at one sitting (2 hours on an epson?). Also the epson bit map file that Ghostscript would produce would be 40MB or more : a disaster for our server and plain stupid it the paper gets jammed, or the ribbon barffs.

If it's DSC compliant just pull out the header and trailer and
the pages you want and print them.

It is impossible to print certain pages from a PostScript file.
For example,
2 { copypage } repeat
will print out two pages. How can you print out the first page and
leave the second page using your utility ?

That is a nonsense comment. "2 { copypage } repeat" print 2 COPIES of
THE SAME PAGE, not "two pages". "Page" in the context of a PDL like
PostScript refers not to physical sheets of paper or whatever.
If a given page is meant to be printed twice, it will print twice even
when extracted with such a utility. That does not invalidate the
claims or description of such a utility as "extracting certain pages
from a PS document".

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I never claimed the program would extract certain pages from *every*
postscript file. I said it would extract certain pages from a file
conforming to PostScript conventions. In particular, the %%Page:
comment. Read the manual page for pspages and see what I mean.
I think you will find it does what it claims to do. If you find
something it doesn't handle, let me know & I will see what I can do.
