Yes, you are on the right track.  Two things though:  1) the
MMDF authorisation functionality is not supported in the
current release (primarily because there's no documentation for
it), and 2) nothing will be logged until you create the logfile
(this is true for all the MMDF log files).  So, to start
logging everything, touch /usr/mmdf/log/auth.log, and make sure
that it is world writable.
