Yes. I see that now. He's running a full-fledged MTA accepting mail
on port 25. I thought was just an ordinary user downloading mail from
his ISP (etc.) and trying to get his MTA to do things it wasn't designed
to do.

Which he apparently is. I have never heard of a way to configure an MTA
to do what he wants and I don't see anyone else here coming up with
a way.
