Hi everyone, I bought a Sun-Netra for hosting the web page for my office. The Netra came configured for e-mail and web server. However, I am trying to set up Newsserver for our clients. Could you please direct me to the resources that can help me setup the news server. Please, be aware I am very, very new to Unix. I also need help in automatically forwarding mail to different address, if the user has an account on an another system... Thank you in advance...( You could also e-mail me at rajraj@vconsult.com ). I can't help you about the newsserver.... But forwarding the mail are no problem. Just create a file called .forward (don't forget the dot) in the users homedirectory. This file contains the mailadress which the mail are being forwarded to. - Niclas

Specifically, I expect you'll be looking for news.software.nntp. Before that though, reading the documentation for whatever news server you're using would be smart. That depends on what mail transport you're using, which you didn't say. Presumably it's sendmail on a sun, in which case you're looking for the group comp.mail.sendmail. Reading the docs first would be a good idea, as you'll probably end up choosing between an alias, or a .forward file. ---Riding-Bean--Nuku-Nuku--AD-Police--Lodoss--UF--DP---/================ Brian Edmonds (MSc CompSci) aka Jubal@TMI / *Gweep Systems* http://www.cs.ubc.ca/spider/edmonds ...treasury / System Consulting ---Blues-Traveler---Dire-Straits--Colin-James--U2---/___inux spoken here Everybody lies about sex. - Lazarus Long
