That'll be some changes to my time-shifting scripts (first time in 10 years of using Unix that I've ever used the "at" command :-) ) Here's a code snippet to save disc space by saving the file as Ogg Vorbis: vsound -s -t /usr/bin/trplayer -q -t 0:30:0 \ http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/realplayer/media/fmg2.ram | sox -t au - \ -t wav - | oggenc - -q 0 -o /tmp/test.ogg Replace oggenc with your favourite encoder if you want MP3 or something else :-) I'm using the text version of realplayer (trplayer - http://www.linux-speakup.org/trplayer.html) because not needing to launch a GUI, it saves any problems with the display when run as a cron or at job. (the -t 0:1:0 allows you to tell it to run for a specific length of time - HH:MM:SS - which is also a bonus for timeshifting.) -- Tony Green Please remove .clothing to reply http://www.beermad.org.uk/ No Micro$oft products were used in the generation of this communication *** A little something to keep the CIA spooks at Echelon busy: Overthrow capitalism, Palestine
