GCC  INTRODUCES  NEW  WRITEMOVE  II
 
THE ONLY PORTABLE PRINTER DESIGNED ESPECIALLY
FOR THE MACINTOSH POWERBOOK
 
Waltham, MA., September 21, 1992 - GCC today introduced the WriteMove
II, the only portable printer designed especially for the Macintosh
PowerBook.  Weighing just 2.5 pounds and measuring only 11.7" x 3.5" x
2.0", this portable QuickDraw printer fits easily into a PowerBook
carrying case or briefcase.  And with 360 x 360 dpi (dots-per-inch)
resolution, the battery-powered WriteMove II produces laser-quality
output in virtually any environment.
 
GCC has equipped the WriteMove II with Adobe Type 1 versions of Times,
Courier, Helvetica, Helvetica Narrow, Symbol, and Palatino for a total
of 21 fonts.  Features such as Adobe Type Manager (ATM), support for
TrueType, and 360 x 360 dpi resolution, were also incorporated to
provide laser-quality output on plain paper, overhead transparencies,
and envelopes.

The WriteMove II features several printing options including: a
"Preview" option, which saves valuable time, paper, and ink by
producing an on-screen document to preview before printing;
"Background Printing", which improves productivity by enabling users
to continue to work as a document prints; a "Print Later" option,
which allows documents to be batched for printing at a later time; and
a "Single/Multi-Strike Ribbon" option, which prints economical drafts
with the multi-strike ribbon, or produces laser-quality output with
the single-strike ribbon.
 
Uniquely designed to complement the color and appearance of the
PowerBook, the WriteMove II comes fully equipped, so it can be used
right out of the box.  Its battery automatically recharges when the
unit is plugged in, which ensures that the WriteMove II is always
ready to print at a moment's notice.  The WriteMove II is also ideal
for making last-minute changes to presentations, printing confidential
faxes in a hotel room, or any time high-quality output is needed on
the road.
 
The WriteMove II retails for $599, and may be purchased from any of
GCC's hundreds of authorized dealers in the U.S. and Canada, as well
as directly from GCC by calling 800-422-7777.  Every WriteMove II
carries a one-year limited warranty on all parts and services, and may
be serviced through authorized GCC dealers, as well as through GCC's
Product Service Center.  An Extended Care Option is also available for
the WriteMove II.  Customer Service and Technical Support hours are
weekdays from 9AM - 8 PM (EST), and Saturdays from 10 AM - 4 PM (EST).
