Because of SIGGRAPH finances we did not produce a May issue in 1992 (this was
announced in the October 1991 issue, but may have been overlooked) and we have
held the August 1992 issue until the SIGGRAPH '92 proceedings have been mailed.
These both should be out very soon (can we say "any day now"?) While the
proceedings are clearly seen as the best issue of Computer Graphics, I think
you will find the August issue to have very interesting articles on the spread
of scientific visualization beyond the usual high-visibility sites.

For the record, finances have not improved, and we are also not planning an
issue of Computer Graphics in May, 1993. Instead, we will "publish" an on-line
special (unnumbered) issue about that time that will appear on siggraph.org and
will be available by ftp and e-mail. This experiment with online publication
will help fill the publication gap and should help us learn about the viability
of online publications. While this note is not a formal call for papers for
the issue, we hope to have some interesting articles dealing with online
publications, and would like to hear from people who are interested in writing
something for this issue.
