From a posting by someone else on this subject we were told after the fact to look at Readme about the nomination process. How about, oh I don't know, posting to comp.orgs.sug? Or sending out a special mailer to a person's e-mail address? Even physical address? The last time I ever heard a call for nominations was back in 1987 when I was attending the So Cal SLUG meetings at Caltech and they started getting people interested in running for board members. Granted I am not a religious Readme reader, especially when I get it 3 months late because my current address never gets updated. Hint, Hint. The other issue here is why should we get involved with an organization that seems secular and destined for obscurity? I feel it had potential at one time, but now I am just apathetic concerning SUG. That is a bad emotion, yes, but it has resulted from SUG's approach to dealing with members and local groups. What are you (SUG board members) doing to change this?
