I have had the same problem with SUG, to the extent that I am no longer a member.
In all the years that I have been a member I have never recieved any form of
automatic renewal notice. Every other group that I belong to sends me an invoice
a few months before the renewal date so that all I have to do is get a check
written and mail it in. With SUG I would have to realize that my membership had
lapsed and then call up and beg for a renewal form. I finally got tired of doing
this and gave up. All this despite the fact that I go to their conferences almost
every year and I have bought most of their tapes and CDs. This year they didn't
even send me the conference brochure! I certainly never got anything asking if
I wanted to be considered for the board of directors.
