I've been recommended to buy a an ati-card to my Linux box [for X], cause
of low prices and good x-server support.

My problem is I really don't know what the differences is beetween cards
like 'video xpression+', '3d xpression+' and '3d pro turbo pc2tv' - I need
a card which is fast in something like 1200x1000 with 65k colors. Which
one should i choose?

btw.: does anyone know if the 3d cards mentioned here are to any use to
games like quake, doom, heretic? [evt. running under dos]

please reply directly to me.

I have heard that all of them are "good". I use the ATI 3D Pro Turbo
PC2TV with 8Megs RAM. I like it so much that I am getting another one
for my second system. It works fine with only 4Megs unless you have
requirements for a very large monitor and high resolution and color
depth. You will need Xfree86-3.3.1 Mach64 drivers. The PC2TV, is based
on the RAGEII chipset. You should check ATIs homepage for teh others.

The PC2TV works fine with these games under DOS, W3.1, W95, and Linux.
