Here it is. Just add the following lines to /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/XTerm.

! Fix key mappings
*ttyModes:	intr ^c erase ^? kill ^u

This fix the color_xterm problem as it did for me. If you problems
with the real xterm then I'm not sure if this will help.
