Hi there all...
I have recieved a couple of suggestions via email, which I am thankful for.
So far, the only one I have tried is the following:
In .xinitrc:
xmodmap -e "keycode 107 = 0x04"
xmodmap -e "keycode 22 = BackSpace"
I have only just re-started my X system (logged out and then logged in again;
couldn't be bothered to try it directly), and I don't like it! Let me
explain...
In ALL terminals, I now have a problem when using term with trsh. For
example, I am now typing into a remote emacs window, and the delete
key doesn't work. Also, when trying to use ftp onn remote computers,
I find that I can't delte at all, whether with the backspace key or delete.
Also, localy the delete key doesn't work. It deltes the character and
gives you a new line, or something like that. Not as annoying as the
original problem.
I tried the stty sane approach, adn that worked. I didn't try to
figure out how to implement it permanently, though.
I am about to try the addition to app-defaults/XTerm. Will keep you
all posted.
