Hi: If you are short of capital or a long way from a bookstore that stocks books on Linux, a free and excellent alternative is a DOS readable text document called 'install-guide-2.2.2.txt' available at sunsite.unc.edu, '/pub/linux/distributions/slackware/docs/install-guide/' or at www.cdrom.com, '/pub/linux/slackware-3.3/docs/install-guide/'. This is a 250+ page book that forms a major component of 'Running Linux' and the first article in 'Linux: The Complete Reference' et al. Just drop it into your favorite word processor, delete those portions dealing with side issues, format for your printer (big left margins - small right margins), print - punch and bind into a folder. For the cost of paper and ink you have an excellent learning handbook with index - It just doesn't get any better than that! Top that, Microsoft! And do have fun. Regards, Brian.
