reconcile two unix boxes

I wonder if anyone has or knows of some scripts which will
reconcile two (pieces of) UNIX filesystems over a network
connection. The situation is that I run Linux on a machine
at home but I also have a Sun running SunOS 4.1.something
in my office at school, and I would like to be able to go home
at night, turn on PPP via modem to the Sun in my office, type
"reconcile" or somesuch, and after a few minutes have my home
directory at home look exactly like it looked a few minutes
ago at school.

I know, I could tar and compress my whole home directory every
time I logout at school and simply download the whole thing,
but we're talking many megabytes and my modem is not *that* fast.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
