I have been trying to make the MIDI work on my Soundblaster AWE64 under Redhat 5.1. I have the AWE synth drivers from "Takashi Iwai (iwai@dragon.mm.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp)" which looks promising, but the RedHat kernel seems to ship with some sound patch which prevents these drivers from installing - the patch seems to remove some of the files associated with low-level sound support. Does anybody know what the RedHat patch is for? Has anybody made this work? Any other tips about the Soundblaster & MIDI?
