Apparently Redhat 5.1 did some "enhancements" to the Sound drivers and "Stuffed it up". My SB16 was healthy on Slackwaare3.2. Since I install Redhat5.1 on my system, the Sound quality is horrible. I downloaded the Linux OSS/Free software and re-compile, and my system sound gets back its quality.
