: We use an Linux box as a mail server. Some of the users collect their
: mail by using pop-capable mailer such as Netscape. The mailer sometimes
: dies for some reason while the pop session is up. 
: Then the pop account is locked so that the users can't collect their
: mail.

There is a problem with large mails: Netscape does not wait long enough
and requests the mail over and over again leaving a lot of temporary
pop files in /tmp behind that are not deleted. 
I had users flushing their quota this way.
I was told that it is also not a good idea to have the option
'leave mails on server' on in the POP setup in netscape, but only
'remove from server'
