It seems that we have over-acronymed the English language, something I've 
suspected for a while and this thread just proves it.

Note the 3 replies here (maybe more by this time) -
1.  Mine and 1 other - extra-low-frequency electromagnetic (E-M) waves 
used for communicating thru dense media.
2.  ELF as in the height-challenged mythical creature.
3.  Some new computer thingy for the Linux operating system.

Guess what?  All 3 are valid responses!  I don't do Linux so I'm assuming 
that one.  One gentleman actually looked up the E-M frequency ranges and 
posted the table in this thread (BTW showing my frequency range for ELF 
E-M to be off by 10x).

Are we somehow creating a communications/understanding gap in our quest 
to compress our info transmission?

BTW, I apologize for my tongue-in-cheek response to the ELF/elves post.  
Really was tunnel vision with this new perspective.
