This already works. The pap program, which is part of the Netatalk package, can send a file from a Linux box to a Mac printer. The psf program can be used as a filter in a normal Linux printer queue to send a print job via pap. I don't know how well these tools work with non-PostScript printers, though. At the very least you'd need to have Ghostscript up and running to convert the file to whatever format the printer accepts. I don't know offhand if Ghostscript has appropriate drivers for an Apple StyleWriter. -- Rod Smith, rodsmith@rodsbooks.com http://www.rodsbooks.com Author of books on Linux networking & WordPerfect for Linux
