Hi, It's not really clear to me what you mean, are you trying to mount the cdrom from another computer? If that is the case, try mounting it through mount -o ro server:/cdrom /local_mount_point the "ro" is important, because cdroms cannot be shared in read-write mode... can you restate the problem?.... I am unclear as to what you are trying to say... if you are trying to access a cdrom from an exported server...then yes you can do this. you'd have to to either use an automounter, so that whenever you change media, that the drive get's remounted (CDROM).... or, once the media in in the drive and the drive is mounted... put a line like this in your exports file :: /mnt/cdrom host_accessing(ro) or /mnt/cdrom *.domain.com(ro) this of course depends that you have already mounted the cdrom.. jon Pfe@Freesurf.fr wrote: > when I mount a NFS volume and that > I export it in " / "; it is impossible for me to reach the cdrom > since the customer computer. > > would somebody have something to > propose to me? -- Wanted - windows system administrator. Well, your English is *still* better than my French (but not by much :-) but nfs mounts won't cross mount points (which your /cdrom mount is). You can do this, but you have to remake your kernel. -Kenny -- Kenneth R. Crudup Sr. SW Engineer, Scott County Consulting, Washington, D.C. At the momet you seem like having at least three different and difficult tasks without knowing how to do. -- Tamy Tokyoite Tell me if my message causes any trouble, please
