I am trying to fix a 486 Laptop, which is a fairly anonymous and chunky thing... It is reporting a HDD error (NOT a controller error) and it cannot see its floppy drive. I am unable to enter the BIOS setup to change anything - pressing DEL at the appropriate time does nothing... On power up - the following BIOS messages are received... CL-GD6440 VGA BIOS Version 1.10d Copyright 1994 Cirrus Logic Inc. All Rights Reserved Copyright 1997-1990 Quadtech Corp. All Rights Reserved 6440 - 08/29/94 950517WT AMIBIOS (c) 1992 / waffle / C: Drive Error / waffle / (c) AMI 41-3to1-051700-00101111-060692-Ver1.04-wt It then asks to press f1 to resume, and hangs on "missing operating system" I have checked the AMI site, with no luck... Please advise. It will almost certainly report a keyboard setup error and allow you to enter the BIOS settings.
