Have you looked into a hardware load-balancing solution? The book "Redhat Linux 6 Server" gave me some valuable info on future load-balancing options. It touches on Round-Robin DNS (which I would stay away from) and also mentions certain hardware solutions: Cisco's Local Director http://www.cisco.com Alteon's Ace Director http://www.alteon.com Radware's Web Server Director http://www.radware.com These would fall in line behind your router and in front of your switches/hubs directing traffic according to IP as needed. The good thing about a hardware solution is: *Distributes load among multiple servers based on its network load, availability of the underlying application, and even performance. *Fault tolerant... If a server crashes of the desired application fails for some reason, it will be taken out of the server farm and no traffic will be directed towards the broken server. *No delay in adding servers or taking down broken servers. *The hardware is fully manageable as it can be told to load balance based on network load, availability of the application itself, and performance. Now I wish there was an OpenSource application for Linux that could also do this.... maybe there is.... Hope this helps, Erik Barker Systems Manager Michael L.
