I have Linux+JE4 (by LASER5) installed over my Linux 1.3.60 elf. I am
able to run Kterm and Kon and use vi to input and view Japanese
characters. However, I am having trouble using motif 2.0 with X11
release 6.

The setlocale() command does not want to recognize my locale of ja,
ja_JP or ja_JP.eucJP. When I link in X's version of Xsetlocale()
instead of the standard setlocale() X is able to set the locale without
complaint. The application will display Japanese characters but I
cannot input any.

When I try to explicitly call XOpenIM() I get an error. I do not know
what or where various input methods are called and so have not set
XSetLocaleModifiers to anything. I am currently running cannaserver as
my input Japanese Input deamon.

Is there any Help out there?

David.
