I had the same problem with a Trident 9400 card. I tried several options
with the CXI driver and none worked. I also had problems with the 9440 chipset
using the AGI driver running AVI's..., although the quicktime's held together
for that card , but only with the Rev5.2 BIOS . Try using the regular Trident
driver and see what happens. I think that's what I eventually used for the
9400. I beleive it's the "trixlv.drv" or close to it. My problems stemmed from
trying to run in Hi-Color mode @ 800x600. My experince with Trident has not
been great. I personally prefer Cirrus Logic cards and I also try to stay away
from multi-resolution drivers. They never seem to work since I first
encountered them on a Diamond Stealth I use to curse frequently.

Hope it helps,

Bob
