We are writing a set of COM objects which send various kinds of information back and forth, and would like some advice on what the best way to send information back and forth. The type of information is basic C types int, long float etc., strings, and structs of the previous types. The COM objects are single (vptr) interface and can be inprocess or outprocess and need to support multithreads. Our prime interest is in making sure the information is sent correctly. Making sure that there are no leaks or dangling pointers. Also we do not want to use VARIANT. Any suggestions.
