The reason it is trying to link mafxdwd.lib is that the names of the libraries are put together according to a convention: mAFXcwd.LIB m=Memory model (Small, Medium, Compact, Large) c=Create (C=Exe, D=Dll) w=Target (Windows, R=Realmode Dos) d=Debug (if present) So VC++ is trying to look for the library to build a medium memory model windows dll with debugging information. No such thing as a medium model DLL, so there is no library file. RTFM: Appendix B of Class Library Users' Guide Build in large model and all will be well. -David Preece dmpreece@tcp.co.uk
