Back to the main question. This is the answer. Asumed that you have set in config.sys shell environment to be big enough. Something like: SHELL=C:\DOS\COMMAND.COM C:\ /P /E:512 ^^^^^ or more /e:1024 You may use another better shell like 4DOS, that will properly set the "enough" environment for you. Then in the autoexec.bat, put these line: set path=c:\win95;c:\win95\command;......;c:\utils set path=d:\acad;d:\ .....;d:\;%path% set path=e:\ ........;e:\;%path% and so on. The %path% will break command.com 255 byte limit (hopefully). If you are in the 4dos shell, you can simply type set path=%path%;f:\.....(your extra path).... I hope this will help you.
