I am writing some simple software to work my QIC-80 tape drive. In doing so, I need exclusive use of the floppy diskette controller, addresses 03f0-03f7. DOS seems to poll the controller periodically (every 30-60 seconds or so), writing to 03f2, and occasionally to 03f6. This causes problems for my program. What I need to know, is how does DOS access the floppy controller, and what can I do to make it stop while my program is active. I have already revectored int E (IRQ6) for my program's use, and thinking that DOS used the BIOS, revectored int 13h and 40h, but that didn't stop DOS from writing to 3f2 and 3f6. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated (I tried calling Microsoft, and they couldn't help without setting up an expensive tech support contract :( ). Thanks much, Kyl Scott kylscott@mksol.dseg.ti.com
