I'm setting up a Workstation at work which has win95, and NW 3.12 Server, Win95 is installed correctly and the Server is working fine, the problem is when the Workstation logins in the Laser Printer is map in the login script to LPT1, I have a local printer on that Port, and when i try to print to my local printer it always prints to the laser printer, I tried to use the UNC //servername/laser command in the printer setup on W95 but it always prints to the Laser Printer on the Network, How to end a capture of Lpt1 to the network printer my login script captures the network printer I want to map my local printer to LPT1 Also map to my Network Printer as LPT2 I'm using 32 bit Network drivers included by W95 Not using dos mode network drivers We are using Tenmast (DOS) software, (Tenant Management Software) Do not want to make any changes on server that could effect other work stations ANY HELP is appreciated Thanks in Advance. RAY

Find a drive in "my computer" mapped to sys: open it up. open the "public" folder double click on syscon.exe select user options arrow down to your login name and press enter arrow down to login script and press enter on the very last line type #endcap hit esc it will ask you if you want to save. arrow to yes and press enter press esc untill your asked if you want to exit syscon arrow to yes and press enter. reboot Tell your network administrator to fix the problem correctly and how you got around it. Guarenteed to work, Bill Harding, CNA

In the Network setup under the Client for Netware Networks properties disable the login script. Then install the printer drivers under Add Printer in the Printers Setup for both printers. Under the properties for the network printer capture lpt1 to the network path of the printer. Now you can use either printer simply by selecting which print driver to use in the application. This has worked great for me since I print to 5 different printers and only have to select the printer in the applications print command. Note: This will not work for DOS programs. You will have to capture and end capture there. Also when disabling the login scripting you will need to map the network drives directly using Network Neighborhood and map them permanently. Once done it will not have to be done again!! ---------- NightOwl
